Welcome to JT’s Movie Page. First, a brief history about exactly who the hell I am and why I love movies. I was born in El Dorado, Arkansas and grew up watching films with my dad after my parents divorced in 1993. After a long period of wondering how films always seemed to capture my imagination, I decided to start writing movie reviews in 2007.

I started posting my reviews on MySpace and, eventually, Facebook. Now, I have made this page the permanent home for my Movie Page. I have posted every review that I have written since 2007 on this blog and, while I did do a little re-editing on all of them, I love how incredibly bad some of the earlier reviews read.

Also, I used a four star rating in 2007 and, here, I updated those ratings to the five star model that I switched to in ’08. Beginning with all 2011 reviews, I retired the five star rating system and updated to a grading system that ranges between A+ to F+.

Okay, so what’s on this site? Let’s take a look:

Reviews – These are reviews of the latest films. Pretty self-explanatory actually.

Late Reviews – There might be times where you will see a review that is listed as Late. These are reviews of films that have been out for more than a month but have yet to be released on DVD and Blu-Ray. I try to catch movies when I can, but some still slip through the cracks.

Retro Review – These reviews look at classic (and some not so classic) films that have either survived the test of time or faded into obscurity.

I also write a column on the site titled “Based on a True Story.”  These articles are simply my own thoughts about the film business and where I think it might be heading.

Finally, there is The Weekly Recap. I travel throughout the vast world wide web and try to gather as much information as I can and post about it on Sundays. This also includes as many new trailers that might be released over the past week.

I hope you enjoy the blog and hope that it will help you find out exactly what you want to see on the big screen or on DVD and Blu-Ray.
